Antonio Orejudo (Madrid, 1963) is a Doctor in Spanish Philology.  He worked as a professor in the United States during seven years and then came home to teach Spanish literature. His first novel, Fabulosas Narraciones por Historias, won the Tigre Juan Prize in 1996 for the best first novel of the year.

Winner of the XV Premio Andalucía de Novela for Ventajas de viajar en tren, this author made his literary debut with FabulosasNarraciones por Historias, which won the Tigre Juan Prize in 1996 for the best first novel of the year, and which Tusquets is relaunching in the autumn of 2007 as “the most admired novel in recent Spanish literature”.

In 1999 he won the XV Andalucía Prize for Novel with Ventajas de viajar en tren. He has published different works related to his professional specialty, Cartas de Batalla, Las Epístolas Familiares, and a noted edition of Novelas Ejemplares  by Miguel de Cervantes. 
His latest novels, Reconstrucción (2005), translated into several languages, and Un momento de descanso (2011) have been published by Tusquets, who has just published a new edition of Ventajas de viajar en tren and Fabulosas narraciones por historias.
